Last blog post

2006/09/08 filed under /nanoblogger

Yes, it's official, this will be the last blog entry from me ...

... using NanoBlogger. I've made the switch to Blosxom for a couple of reasons. Mainly, NB is just too slow for my liking. I don't even have many entries, yet updating everything takes a long time and editing a post too...

Blosxom provides an easy way to hack up posts too, just like nb, yet it's not static. And hey, Blosxom is in Perl :-)

Anyways, update your RSS feeds.

How do you categorize your entries in different categories with blosxom? I gave up on this and decided to use wordpress for my blog. I run 2 other pages with blosxom though.

I use the [multicat plugin](http://rus.berrett.org/blog/contrib/blosxom/multicat_plugin.html) for that ;-)

aight, this was written after I gave up. :)

Aaah... that brings back memories! Bloxsom is what I used started with blogging way back in 2003.
Just curious when you will end up on the real FreeBSD-blogging software "Typo"...

Typo huh ... wasn't aware of that one, but it looks like a Ruby project. That's way too modern for me ;-)

I'll stick with Blosxom for a while now. Clean and easy way of blogging and since I know some Perl, I can probably hack away annoyances, should the arise.

I like the "filesystem as database" idea, for it makes adding files a breeze (think of mail2blog, jabber2blog, etc. solutions :)

Does "Blosxom" also run out of a shell or does it have got any web interface to creat/edit your entries?

It has no web interface. You post new entries bij opening your $EDITOR and saving HTML to a file on your disk. Basically just like nanoblogger.
