New FreeBSD logo?
2005/02/10 filed under /newsSlashdot reported about the new FreeBSD contest for a new logo, to replace the cute daemon.
According to the contest page:
"this daemon character seems cute from somebody's point of view, but somebody may think which does not suit for the professional products to indicate that are using the FreeBSD inside."
At this time, however, the contest page claims not to be ready yet:
"Despite an early draft announcement that got out we are not quite ready for the logos yet."
Thank god, there's a petition to save the old logo. Probably it won't help, but who cares. Save beastie!
